I have known Justin for several years and I have followed their completed projects on their company page. Justin is honest, sincere, and a very skilled professional. Justin Laughter of Laughter Family Hardscapes, and his crew, took on a major retaining wall project for us this past Spring and Summer. From the initial design, through the detailed construction, to the finished product, Justin took care to guide me though all my many fears (due to lack of vision) to the truly beautiful structure that has transformed the property. He pays keen attention to detail and doesn’t cut corners. I know this retaining wall will stand the test of time.

Hurricane Helene washed out a long sloping rockfall in our back yard creek, converting a small steam into a large ravine. An unstable dirt bank threatened the adjacent property. Justin provided a description of the appropriate wall construction, following with a detailed and professionally written contract. Work began short term and continued directly through completion. An eight foot high by forty foot long retainer wall of large stone blocks was executed flawlessly and in a timely fashion. The Laughter crew kept me informed of materials delivery. They worked purposefully and provided a daily update of their progress. When the wall was complete they thoroughly cleaned up the entire work area, rebuilt a small wooden bridge that they had removed to access the site, and tilled and seeded the excavated area. I felt that I was a partner with Justin and his crew the entire time. We now have a sturdy, well built stone wall that will protect our property in the future. I heartily recommend Laughter Family Hardscapes. They will provide exemplary construction and first-rate service.

Our family can't say enough good things about Laughter Family Hardscapes! Justin and his crew were very professional and worked with us closely from start to finish on all our backyard projects. Justin's crew has installed walkways, retaining walls, garden beds, sod, a privacy fence and even a wooden stairway for us. We keep coming back to Laughter Family Hardscapes anytime that we have exterior landscapes needs. The finished products were very neat, clean, ascetically pleasing and ultra durable! 10/10 would recommend.

Justin and his crew transformed our front yard, and made it absolutely stunning! A once neglected, undefined area of mulch next to grass has been redefined with a beautifully crafted stone wall around our magnolia, a usable, charming stone path to and along the driveway, and more grass to prettify it all! Additionally, we had this idea of adding a few fairy doors (that a friend made) to the wall, and they were incorporated beautifully! Justin and his workers are all very knowledgeable, kind and approachable. Justin is communicative and available, and we are extremely pleased with this amazing improvement. We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication his team put into this project! Thank you, Justin, and your amazing team for transforming our yard into a beautiful space we are proud of. Laughter Hardscapes did a phenomenal job rebuilding my retaining wall after Helene. Justin was informative, communicative throughout the job, and his team was wonderful to work with. They were respectful, on time, and completed the job quickly. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a retaining wall or any other hardscape project.

Laughter Family Hardscapes did a great job completing a major project at my house in Laurel Park in the first quarter of 2025. I had a sloping asphalt driveway with a retaining wall made of railroad ties at the bottom. The retaining wall was rotting and gradually giving way and the end of the driveway near the wall had started to buckle. Justin Laughter gave me a detailed estimate of all the work involved to take out the existing wall and the bottom of the driveway and replace them, including installing new drainage, and repaving the rest of the driveway with asphalt. There was a delay in completing the project because temperatures got too cold for the local asphalt company (it needs to be roughly 50 degrees for them to operate), but after that the project was completed in a timely manner. I was very happy with the work they did and thought the price was fair. I'd recommend them highly.
